Hafpor Julius Bjornsson: Game of Thrones Star Breaks 1,000 Year Old Weightlifting Record!

If you're a Game of Thrones fan, then you know that the battle between Oberyn Martell and Gregor "The Mountain" Clegane made for one of season four's most thrilling scenes.

Part of what made the fight so memorable is that the actor who portrays The Mountain really lives up to the nickname.

Hafpor Julius Bjornsson is the world's second strongest man, having earned the title after throwing a washing machine 15 feet (!?!?) at last year's international competition.

But while mere mortals such as ourselves might be satisfied with be the second most terrifying human on the planet, Bjornsson (or "Thor" as he's known to fans) won't stop until he claims that number one spot.

According to his Instagram page, Bjornsson got one step closer to his goal in awe-inspiring fashion this week.

Competing in the World's Strongest Viking competition (a qualifying round for the Strongest Man championship), Bjornsson broke a record that - according to legend - has endured for a millennium:

"The legend of the Icelander Orm Storulfsson says that he walked three steps with this MONSTER LOG WOODEN LOG, which weighs 1320 lbs.," Bjornsson writes.

"Well, today my friends, I made history! I carried this MONSTER LOG 5 steps!!! NOTHING CAN STOP ME!!! NOTHING CAN BREAK ME!!!"

Clearly, Thor is afflicted with the same tragic all-caps disorder that afflicted Kanye during his early days on Twitter. But something tells us no one is gonna give him a hard time about it.
